The Aston Martin DB9 is a GT sports coupé launched by Aston Martin in 2004.

The DB9 is the first model to be built at Aston Martin's Gaydon facility in Warwickshire, England. The moniker "DB" stems from the initials of David Brown, the owner of Aston Martin for a significant part of its history. The DB9, which was designed by Ian Callum and finished by his successor, Henrik Fisker, superseded the now-discontinued Aston Martin DB7 (also by Callum) which started production in 1994.

On the English automotive show Top Gear it is thought of highly, notably on the show's "Cool Wall" segment, where the presenters considered it to be "too cool" for the wall and it received its own category, dubbed the "DB9 Sub Zero Fridge" which was in fact a mini-refrigerator with the car's card within it.

Bugatti Veyron New Cars

There's not that much you can do to a Bugatti Veyron to make it more powerful (and still drivable), so Bugatti has been creating slightly revised special editions for those with slightly deeper pockets, such as the tame Bugatti Veyron fbg par Hermes and the wild Veyron Pur Sang. Now we have the Sang Noir, which translates directly to "Black Blood" though dark blooded is probably more appropriate.

The MR2's life began in 1976 when Toyota launched a design project with the goal of producing a car which would be enjoyable to drive, yet still provide decent fuel economy. Initially, the purpose of the project was not a sports car. The actual design work began in 1979 when Akio Yoshida from Toyota's testing department started to evaluate different alternatives for engine placement and drive method. It was finally decided to place the engine transversely in the middle of the car. The result was the first prototype in 1981, dubbed the SA-X. From its base design, the car began evolving into an actual sports car, and further prototypes were tested intensely both in Japan and in California. A significant amount of testing was performed on actual race circuits such as Willow Springs, where former Formula One driver Dan Gurney tested the car.

Founded in 2003, Scion is an interesting brand. Owned by Toyota Motor Corporation, it was created with the single aim of appealing to Generation Y consumers.

With the big T suffering the “fridge-on-wheels” image problem with younger buyers, Scion has managed to lift sales where needed. So far the brand only exists in the U.S. and all Scion vehicles are front-wheel drive hatchbacks, but that might all change.

So here is the rumour, there is talk of Scion making its way to Europe. Yep, an American Japanese car for Europeans.

New Toyota USA

Toyota's media reception this evening, new Toyota USA President Jim Lentz revealed the company's latest concept, the A-BAT hybrid pickup. We first saw pics of the new concept a couple of weeks ago but in person it is quite a bit more striking. Given how much "small" trucks have grown over the past two decades it was quite refreshing to see such a small truck on display. The extended cab unit body design actually looks quite sharp in person and the flexibility afforded by the Chevy Avalanche like mid-gate makes it actually useful for hauling decent sized loads, as long as they aren't too heavy. With both the tailgate and mid-gate folded the A-BAT has an eight foot bed with four feet between the side walls.
